An earl with demands to marry, and a lady with no such desires despise each other when the Queen sets them on a private but urgent matter. Together! Chaos ensues with perhaps the life of the Queen’s Diamond at stake. Excellent reading. On to the next one.

One of the best historical /cozy mysteries I’ve read! The main character Dora is strong and vibrant. Aided by two close associates she’s a force to be reckoned with! I thoroughly enjoyed the attention to detail in the places they go and the real world setting with all the historical markers.
I want to say more on the plot but I also want you the reader to enjoy it firsthand! The author generously offers a prequel to Murder I Spy as well as a bonus epilogue which adds a new and quite delightful character! This is shaping up to be an exceptionally bright series!
I enjoyed the story and the characters. Both main characters have their secrets and backgrounds they are working to overcome. Trusting others also doesn’t come easy for either of them, especially when it comes to trusting each other.
If you are looking for a couple who starts out mildly annoyed with each other but are soon overlooking every fault and falling into each other’s arms – this is NOT that story. Instead, settle in for an enemy-to-lovers with slow burn and tension, and political intrigue on the side.
